Job Description
Join our innovative and remote-first engineering team at career.imfdirectgov as a Backend Developer. We are on a mission to build the next generation of resilient, secure, and scalable digital services that drive efficiency and enhance user experience across critical sectors. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced developer to contribute to impactful projects from anywhere, collaborating with a diverse and talented group of professionals committed to technical excellence and public service innovation.
As a Backend Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the core architecture of our high-traffic platforms. You’ll be tackling complex technical challenges daily, ensuring high performance, reliability, and robust security for systems that handle sensitive data and critical operations. Our technology stack is modern and continuously evolving, primarily focusing on Python with frameworks like Django/Flask, Node.js with Express, or Java with Spring Boot, coupled with PostgreSQL or MongoDB databases, and deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure using Docker and Kubernetes. We champion agile methodologies and best practices in software development, including continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD), extensive automated testing, and rigorous code reviews, to ensure the highest quality and maintainability of our deliverables.
This remote role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous environment while also being a strong collaborator within a distributed team. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and architectural design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Your insights will be invaluable in architectural discussions, technology choices, and sprint planning, directly influencing the technical direction of our products. We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, providing opportunities to explore new technologies, attend conferences, and expand your skill set through challenging projects. If you are passionate about crafting robust backend systems, enjoy solving intricate technical problems, and want to build solutions that genuinely make a positive impact on public services, we encourage you to apply and become a key part of our forward-thinking team.
