Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor, record, and report changes in patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Perform various nursing procedures such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions in electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively, initiating appropriate interventions and alerting the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-discharge instructions as appropriate.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate patient status and concerns clearly during shift handovers.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Alabama.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for patient and team interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
