You will be responsible for originating new mortgage loans, which includes actively prospecting and developing relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources within the Coaling community and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Originate residential mortgage loans through active prospecting and relationship building with real estate professionals and other referral sources.
- Interview loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans, assessing creditworthiness and capacity.
- Advise clients on the various loan programs available (FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, Jumbo, etc.) and recommend the best-suited options based on their financial situation and goals.
- Collect, verify, and analyze financial documents including income statements, tax returns, bank statements, and credit reports.
- Structure and present complete and accurate loan applications to underwriting, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local lending regulations, as well as company policies.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication with clients, real estate agents, and internal processing/underwriting teams throughout the entire loan process.
- Attend industry events, network, and participate in community activities to generate new business leads and enhance professional visibility.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly loan production and sales goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service, fostering long-term client relationships and securing repeat business and referrals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Mortgage Loan Officer with a strong track record of success.
- Active NMLS license, or the ability to obtain one promptly upon hire.
- Comprehensive understanding of mortgage lending products, processes, and regulatory requirements (TRID, RESPA, HMDA, etc.).
- Exceptional sales, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities for evaluating financial data and assessing credit risk.
- Proficiency in CRM software and various loan origination systems (LOS).
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and a client-first service mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage a pipeline effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Established local network of real estate agents, builders, and other community referral partners in Coaling and surrounding areas.
- Experience with a diverse portfolio of loan products, including specialty or niche programs.
