Job Description
career.imfdirectgov is actively seeking a motivated and dedicated Junior Electrician to join our essential night shift team in the vibrant and historic Old Quebec City. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for an individual eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and critical service environment. As a Junior Electrician on our night crew, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing diverse electrical systems across various commercial and public sites, often working independently or alongside seasoned senior technicians. The night shift offers a unique opportunity to engage in proactive maintenance, execute critical repairs, and manage new installations during off-peak hours, thereby minimizing disruption and ensuring the continuous, uninterrupted functionality of vital infrastructure that keeps our community running. You will be responsible for accurately interpreting complex blueprints, performing meticulous routine inspections, precisely diagnosing electrical faults, and executing swift, effective repairs on a wide range of electrical components, from sophisticated lighting systems and power distribution panels to essential machinery and control circuits. Safety remains the absolute cornerstone of all our operations, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all provincial regulations (such as the Canadian Electrical Code) and rigorous company safety protocols, thereby ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and all your colleagues. This role is perfectly suited for a recent graduate of an accredited electrical program or an ‘apprentice with foundational experience who is looking to rapidly solidify and expand their expertise. We provide a structured learning environment where you can gain invaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies, all while being guided by experienced professionals who are deeply committed to fostering your professional growth. If you are inherently detail-oriented, possess a robust understanding of fundamental electrical principles, and thrive in a focused, self-sufficient, and often problem-solving night-time setting, we strongly encourage you to apply and power your career with us, contributing to the backbone of Quebec City’s operations.
