career.imfdirectgov is actively seeking a diligent and dedicated Part-Time Hotel Laundry Attendant to join a thriving hospitality team in Grimes, Alabama. This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction our partner hotel is known for. As a Laundry Attendant, you will be an integral part of the hotel’s operations, responsible for ensuring that all linens and uniforms are impeccably cleaned, pressed, and readily available for use. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, possesses excellent attention to detail, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Your day will involve a variety of tasks, from sorting soiled laundry and operating commercial washing and drying equipment to folding, ironing, and delivering clean items to designated areas. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understanding that clean and fresh linens contribute significantly to a guest’s comfort and overall positive experience. Key Responsibilities
- Sort all soiled laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms, etc.) according to type, color, and degree of soilage.
- Load and operate commercial washing machines and dryers according to specified procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitor laundry equipment for proper functioning and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Fold, iron, and press clean laundry items neatly and efficiently.
- Inspect linens for stains or damage, and re-wash or set aside for repair/discard as needed.
- Stock linen closets and supply areas with clean, fresh items.
- Deliver clean linens and uniforms to appropriate departments (e.g., housekeeping, food & beverage).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the laundry area.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts of linens and supplies as required.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment operation.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Preferred Qualifications
