Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided delivery vehicle to transport goods across designated routes within North Nanaimo and surrounding areas, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Accurately load, unload, and organize packages in the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Strategically plan and execute delivery routes using GPS and company routing software to maximize efficiency, meet delivery deadlines, and optimize fuel consumption.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of a variety of goods to residential and commercial customers, verifying recipient details and obtaining necessary signatures.
- Maintain meticulous records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, mileage logs, fuel consumption, and any incident reports, submitting them promptly as required.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during each interaction, addressing inquiries or concerns effectively and representing the company positively.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to ensure continuous operational safety and reliability.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal traffic regulations, company safety guidelines, and best practices for secure transportation and handling of goods.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with GPS devices and routing software.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

- Prior experience in parcel or courier delivery.
