Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class B) safely and efficiently, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Safely load, unload, and secure cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and other documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members, providing updates on delivery status and addressing concerns.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and delivery times, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Represent career.imfdirectgov professionally while on the road and during interactions with clients or the public.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings.
- Handle unexpected situations or delays with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
Required Skills
- Valid CDL Class B driver's license
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Physical stamina and ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Basic communication and customer service skills
- Reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Familiarity with local Winfield, Alabama and surrounding area routes
- Previous experience with vehicle maintenance checks
