Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport packages, documents, and other items to designated locations.
- Plan and execute delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Verify contents against delivery manifest and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery and pickup.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License (Class D) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 6 months of proven experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of local geography and street navigation in Jonesboro, AR, and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in using GPS devices and routing software.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
