This is a unique opportunity for someone who demonstrates strong initiative, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to organize and execute delivery routes effectively. While direct delivery experience isn’t required, we’re looking for someone with a natural aptitude for organization, problem-solving, and leading by example. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining vehicle standards, and embodying our commitment to exceptional service. Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily delivery routes efficiently and safely, ensuring timely arrival of goods to customers within the Vanier/Ottawa region.
- Act as a point of contact for routine delivery inquiries, demonstrating excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
- Handle packages with care, accurately scanning and documenting deliveries and pickups.
- Collaborate with dispatch and team members to optimize routes and address any delivery challenges.
- Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to company policies, even without direct supervisory duties.
- Provide basic guidance and support to newer drivers or team members on best practices and local routes when applicable.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, prioritizing safety at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid G-Class Driver's License (or equivalent provincial license)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation tools and smartphone apps
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Ottawa city streets and surrounding areas
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality)
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance checks
