Key Responsibilities
- Prepare subfloors for installation, including cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.
- Accurately measure, cut, and install various types of flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, vinyl, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), tile, and carpet.
- Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to ensure precise installation, proper adhesion, and seamless, aesthetically pleasing finishes.
- Adhere strictly to project specifications, blueprints, manufacturer guidelines, and all relevant safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding project progress, timelines, and any potential issues or adjustments.
- Conduct thorough final inspections of installed flooring to ensure quality workmanship, address any imperfections, and achieve complete client satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials and protection of client property.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges, unexpected issues, or material discrepancies efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with material loading, unloading, staging, and inventory management as needed, ensuring efficient project flow.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in professional flooring installation across various material types (hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, carpet).
- Proficiency with a full range of flooring tools and equipment, including saws, cutters, trowels, rollers, sanders, and other specialized instruments.
- Strong understanding of subfloor preparation, including cleaning, leveling, moisture testing, and repair techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality, flawless workmanship.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed project specifications.
- Excellent physical stamina, strength, and dexterity, with the ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), bend, kneel, and work in various postures for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Cherokee, Alabama.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges, and capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal certification in specific flooring types or advanced installation techniques.
- Experience with specialized flooring materials such as epoxy coatings, polished concrete, or custom inlays.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to flooring installation.
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification.
