Key Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to various insurance companies and government payers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, appealing denials, and resolving any billing discrepancies or rejections.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient financial and health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with insurance payers, healthcare providers, and patients regarding billing inquiries and issues.
- Generate and review aging reports, identifying trends and implementing strategies for improved collections.
- Stay current with coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), payer policies, and industry regulations to ensure compliance.
