Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all night shift warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Oversee accurate receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
- Implement and rigorously enforce company health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.
- Lead, motivate, train, and manage a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, implementing effective corrective actions promptly.
- Prepare daily reports on shift performance, key metrics, and incident reporting.
- Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring regular checks and reporting faults.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members.
- Collaborate effectively with day shift supervisors and other departments for seamless operational handover and communication.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Warehouse Supervisor, specifically within a night shift setting.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational abilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and general IT applications (e.g., MS Office).
- Comprehensive understanding and practical application of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift license (Reach and Counterbalance preferred) with practical experience.
- Ability to work independently, make decisive judgments, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Warehousing & Logistics or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma principles).
