Job Description
career.imfdirectgov is immediately hiring a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Scan Clerk for our fast-paced night shift operations in Ventura, California. This is a critical full-time role responsible for the accurate scanning, tracking, and documentation of incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring the seamless flow of goods through our distribution center. As a Warehouse Scan Clerk, you will be the backbone of our inventory accuracy, utilizing handheld scanners and our warehouse management system (WMS) to meticulously record product movements. Your ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency in a night-time environment is paramount to our operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Operate handheld barcode scanners to accurately scan and record all incoming and outgoing inventory items.
- Verify product quantities against manifests, purchase orders, and shipping labels, identifying and reporting discrepancies.
- Perform data entry into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to update inventory records in real-time.
- Label and organize products according to company standards and storage locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments regarding inventory status.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including equipment and scanning stations.
- Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment safely, if certified and required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and navigating software applications.
- Ability to operate handheld scanning devices effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs repetitively during an 8-10 hour shift.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control role.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience working night shifts.
- Basic understanding of inventory best practices.
