career.imfdirectgov is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Gate Guard to join our team for the night shift in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This is a critical, on-site role where you will be the first point of contact for all individuals entering and exiting our premises during the overnight hours. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the security and integrity of our facility by meticulously controlling access, monitoring activity, and responding to any unusual occurrences.

Key Responsibilities
- Control and monitor all access points to the facility during the night shift, verifying identification for all entrants and logging visitor information accurately.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and identifying any unauthorized items or personnel.
- Maintain a detailed log of all gate activity, incidents, and observations throughout the shift.
- Operate gate control equipment, surveillance systems, and communication devices effectively.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches, escalating issues to management or emergency services as required.
- Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle, inspecting the perimeter and identifying potential security risks or hazards.
- Provide clear and courteous directions to authorized visitors and contractors.
- Enforce all company security policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Prepare comprehensive incident reports for any security-related events or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with day shift personnel to ensure a smooth transition of duties and information.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional gatehouse environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in security, gate control, or a related field
- Excellent observational and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to operate basic security equipment (e.g., radios, CCTV monitors)
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for logging and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under minimal supervision
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a night shift security role
- Current Arkansas Security Guard License (or ability to obtain one)
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience with access control systems and visitor management software
- Knowledge of local security regulations and emergency procedures
