Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate counterbalance and reach forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles with precision, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling of goods.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning and relocating stock, ensuring correct placement and easy retrieval.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including picking, packing, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
- Handle delicate or hazardous materials with extreme care, following all specific handling guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Forklift Operator Licence (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR accredited) for counterbalance and/or reach trucks.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations, particularly manual handling and MHE operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and completing paperwork.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Good physical stamina, capable of performing duties that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
- Possession of additional MHE licences (e.g., VNA, PPT) is a distinct advantage.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and system navigation.
