Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide medication reminders and ensure clients adhere to their prescribed schedules.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including tidying living areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation, hobbies, and activities.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including ambulation, using assistive devices, and positioning.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Document care services provided and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to supervisory staff.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment, identifying and reporting potential hazards.
Required Skills
- Proven empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for the elderly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to follow care plans diligently and adapt to individual client needs.
- Basic understanding of first aid and emergency procedures.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a caregiver in a home setting or assisted living facility.
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.
- Experience working with clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other chronic conditions.
- Knowledge of basic meal preparation and dietary restrictions.
