Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle (or personal vehicle, if applicable and approved) to deliver items to designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing navigation tools to optimize time and fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery and any issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with recipients, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring their integrity from pick-up to delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding route status, delays, or challenges.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and manage fluctuating workloads.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B)
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 points in the last 3 years)
- Excellent knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical capability to lift and carry packages up to 25kg
- Customer service-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier
- Experience using navigation and delivery management applications
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends
