Job Description

As a Conference and Events Manager at career.imfdirectgov, you will be the driving force behind our diverse portfolio of events, playing a pivotal role in delivering memorable and impactful experiences that align with our organisational objectives. Based in the beautiful coastal town of Llandudno, Conwy, this full-time position requires a visionary leader with exceptional organisational skills and a flair for execution. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of various conferences, seminars, workshops, and public engagement events, ensuring each runs seamlessly from conceptualisation through to post-event analysis. This involves meticulous planning, budget management, vendor negotiation, and team coordination to guarantee the highest standards of delivery.

Your day-to-day will be dynamic and varied. One moment you might be scouting venues, the next you’re deep in negotiations with catering services, or collaborating with marketing teams to promote an upcoming summit. We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure, possesses an innate ability to troubleshoot on the fly, and maintains a calm, professional demeanour even when faced with unexpected challenges. You will be instrumental in enhancing our reputation as a centre for engaging and professionally executed events. This role isn’t just about logistics; it’s about crafting experiences that resonate, foster connections, and achieve strategic goals.

You will lead a small, dedicated team, providing guidance and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative atmosphere where creativity and efficiency flourish. Success in this role means not only delivering events on time and within budget but also exceeding attendee expectations and continuously seeking innovative ways to improve our event offerings. If you are a passionate event professional with a proven track record of orchestrating successful events, eager to make a significant impact within a public service-oriented organisation, we encourage you to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in a vibrant setting, contributing directly to the community and our strategic outreach initiatives.
