Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft and baggage carts efficiently and safely.
- Operate ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts (training provided), following all operational guidelines.
- Transport baggage between aircraft, baggage claim areas, and sorting facilities with precision and care.
- Sort and tag baggage according to destination and flight numbers, ensuring accurate handling.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and security regulations and procedures, prioritizing personal and equipment safety.
- Inspect and report any damage to baggage or equipment immediately to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, flight crews, and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to ensure seamless airport operations and uphold service standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy bags (up to 70 lbs) frequently and continuously.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling luggage.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, and outdoor environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinated operations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to scheduled shifts.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance and relevant certifications.
