Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, during night hours to detect and deter suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) effectively to identify and respond to potential security breaches, theft, or fraudulent activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, following established protocols to assess and mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents of loss, including theft, vandalism, and internal shrink, accurately documenting findings and preparing detailed reports.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security, access control, and asset protection.
- Collaborate with management and local law enforcement when necessary to resolve security incidents and provide evidence.
- Maintain a visible presence to act as a deterrent and provide a sense of security to employees and visitors.
- Assist in training new employees on loss prevention awareness and security best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and security systems.
- Proficiency in incident report writing and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of criminal law pertaining to theft and fraud.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar security certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working night shifts or in a 24/7 operational environment.
