Key Responsibilities
- Provide overnight supervision and companionship, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with self-administration as per care plan.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate safety techniques and equipment.
- Prepare light meals or snacks, ensuring nutritional needs are met throughout the night.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying common areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Document client activities, changes in condition, and any unusual occurrences accurately and promptly.
- Engage clients in calming activities or conversations to ease anxieties or combat loneliness.
- Respond to emergencies or urgent situations calmly and effectively, notifying appropriate personnel.
- Communicate regularly with family members and other healthcare professionals regarding client status.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional caregiver experience (preferably in a night shift setting)
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
- Physical ability to assist with transfers and mobility (e.g., lifting up to 25 lbs)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification
- Previous experience caring for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
